My Background

I have always held a strong appreciation for geometric design and spatial equilibrium. This combination led to my blossoming interest in quilting. I was drawn to the challenge of balancing color and layout that resulted in visually engaging quilts.

My mother surprised me with my first sewing machine when I was 21 years old. After learning the basics, I focused on making one-of-a-kind lap quilts; each was designed with a particular person in mind. This process appealed to me because I loved the adventure offered by each new creation.

My stepmother passed away when I was 34 years old. I used her clothing to make a commemorative quilt and a stuffed animal for my father. In the following years I began getting requests from others who had lost loved ones. I came to realize that this kind of product was both greatly appreciated and underrepresented.

Thus, my studio — Notable Grace — came into being. Through the studio I offer one-of-a-kind commemorative creations. I listen to stories and incorporate the details in order to give each creation its own unique light. Each piece is handled with care and respect.
